New Items Added: Schedule and Venue Pages

This week we’ve added a few things to the site to help you learn more about the upcoming conference.
Schedule – Our entire seminar schedule is available here. The event runs from 8AM to 4PM and there will be plenty of time to network with other St. Louis business owners!
Venue – We’ve created a really fancy and elaborate page about our event venue. Ok, it’s kind of boring. There isn’t exactly a lot to say… but there is a cool virtual tour (so you can pick out your seat before you even get there).
Speaker Interview: David Ogletree

David Ogletree will be speaking at the upcoming Look at Me seminar about Search Engine Friendly Web Design. We sat down with David and asked him some questions about his presentation, along with a few about what he’s been up to lately.
I see you are speaking on search engine friendly web design. Why do you think this is an important topic for businesses in St Louis?
If you want increase sales from search engine searchers you need to make sure your website can be found in search engines. Most web developers are only concerned about how the website looks and not how a search engine looks at it. When you make a search engine friendly website you have a better chance of ranking at the top. It is not uncommon to be in a 3-way battle for the top spot. You may all be going after the same links. In this case the site that has better on page optimization will rank the highest.
My cousin’s girlfriend built my business website for a few hundred bucks. Is spending thousands of dollars on a SE-friendly website really worth it?
Look at Me Event Venue

Finding a venue that suits the needs of busy business owners that also want to come to a great convention is a tough task. Luckily, we’ve found a great location that just rocks.
The upcoming Look at Me seminar will be held at (drumroll please) – The Doubletree Hotel and Conference Center in Chesterfield, MO. Yay! We figured anything that has ‘conference center’ in their title must be good, right? Well it is. It’s awesome.
On top of having a great location, the Doubletree also has a great lunch buffet for all attendees. So grab your laptop and head on up. There will be coffee, tea and tasty treats for you while you register and get ready for a ton of awesome information about boosting your website traffic and revenue! Read the rest of this entry »
We Need Some Stinkin’ Badges!

If you’re going to the Look at Me event in August, you may just want to tell all your business friends (and help us promote it, too!). Just in case you’re the giving kind, we’ve provided some badges for you to choose from for your website / blog / car window / billboard rental.

Now we’re aware that these badges aren’t the coolest ones around, but this isn’t exactly a graphic design seminar, so you’ll have to deal with what is here. Or, if you are a graphics guru, go ahead and make us some cool badges and we’ll put them up on the site, and even give you props for your ninja graphic skills!
